Forest Cove Acres

Shane & Erin Lair: We are a small, commercial-scale cherry operation. We fully comply with Global Gap practices and are still under the qualifying umbrella of the large producer we have contracted with in the past. Our orchard has 5 varietals. Of the 13,000+ trees, there are predominantly sweet red varieties: Santina, Bing, Benton, and Skeena. We also have Rainier (yellow) cherries. Forest Cove Acres is one of the original cherry orchards in the valley, settled by the McNeill family in 1901. We hope to continue the legacy of this orchard for years to come- many of the generational Cove orchards have been pulled out due to the challenges that exist raising a fruit tree crop. The orchard is best known locally for being home to The Red Barn, a landmark in the Cove community. Currently, the orchard is majority managed by Erin, a former school district superintendent. She gets support from her husband, Shane; their two girls are the primary tour guides for those wishing to come visit the orchard in person.
